Associate Research Director, Emerging Architectures
Michael Orr is an Associate Research Director and Principal Research Engineer at Two Six Labs where he is principally focused on the design and development of large-scale compute architectures. Mr. Orr joined Two Six Labs in 2013 and is currently the Chief Architect for the DARPA SIGMA Network – a massively distributed architecture designed to support streaming, algorithmic execution, and storage of thousands of portable radiation detectors.
Prior to Two Six Labs, Mr. Orr was a Lead Engineer at Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories (LM ATL) where he provided system integration leadership on a number of DARPA programs including Graph Understanding and Analysis for Rapid Detection – Deployed on the Ground (GUARD DOG) and Predictive Analysis for Naval Deployment Activities (PANDA). Mr. Orr received has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Drexel University.
