Research Director, Emerging Architectures
Michael Orr is Research Director at Two Six Labs where he is principally focused on the design and development of large-scale compute architectures. Mr. Orr joined Two Six Labs in 2013 and is currently the Chief Architect for the DARPA SIGMA Network – a massively distributed architecture designed to support streaming, algorithmic execution, and storage of thousands of portable radiation detectors.
Prior to Two Six Labs, Mr. Orr was a Lead Engineer at Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories (LM ATL) where he provided system integration leadership on a number of DARPA programs including Graph Understanding and Analysis for Rapid Detection – Deployed on the Ground (GUARD DOG) and Predictive Analysis for Naval Deployment Activities (PANDA). Mr. Orr received has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Drexel University.
