SENIOR MOBILE RESEARCH ENGINEER

 

Two Six Labs is looking to hire a Senior Mobile Research Engineer with a focus on mobile security. The successful candidate will have hands on software development experience in mobile operating systems in addition to security technologies and products. We are seeking experienced candidates with a passion for research accompanied by a practical understanding of developing solutions for the real world.

The ideal candidate will have hands on technical skills combined with experience working in R&D teams on fast paced, high impact projects. Members of this team are highly motivated, self-driven, and able to work well independently as well as within a team.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Mobile Research Engineer, you will:
  • Actively participate in and lead portions of the design, build, test, and implementation phases of research programs focused on advancing security and privacy in mobile platforms
  • Join a small, highly-focused team that values initiative and creative spirit
  • Become intimately familiar with all aspects of what goes on inside of today’s smartphones, including the hardware, kernel, drivers, firmware, framework, and apps
  • Design and develop custom software solutions for both prototype and production-level systems

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

  • A four-year degree in CS, EE, or Mathematics, or related on the job experience
  • Five or more years of software development experience (Master’s + 3 years, PhD + 1 years), preferably with significant experience in Linux OS / kernel development
  • Proficiency in either C++ or Java programming languages with experience developing for mobile and/or embedded systems
  • Proven expertise in cutting edge cybersecurity research and development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following technical areas:
    • Building/modifying Android or other mobile operating systems
    • Network stack development
    • Linux kernel namespaces
    • Content-based, data-oriented, or named data networking architectures
    • Wireless protocols (NFC/Bluetooth/802.11/LTE) and hardware
    • Embedded systems

 

 

Nice to haves:

  • Experience developing or modifying Internet-of-Things (IOT) devices
  • Experience with ARM assembly language
  • Experience developing security solutions and products
  • An active DoD clearance (Secret or above)
